Gyejoksan (Mt.)
With high peaks and small mountain ridges, Gyejoksan (mountain) is where one can have a grand view of Lake Daecheong. Many mountaineers love the evening glow as seen from this mountain.
Located in the south of Jang-dong and stretching from Daedeok-gu to Dong-gu, Gyejoksan (mountain) has unique, high peaks. The mountain is 423.6 m high and is called Bonghwang (Phoenix) Mountain It has many legends associated with its name.
According to one story, it was so named because of its shape; its ranges stretch out like the feet of a chicken. The Gyejoksan (mountain) range meets Sikjangsan (mountain) at the Secheon Pass. To the south, it forms a small range stretching out to Seokbong-dong and Miho-dong near Daecheong Dam.
Many people visit the mountain to enjoy the beauty of its forests, valleys, and historic relics. There is a lookout on top of the mountain, and the clear air makes people feel relaxed. On the way to the top, hikers stop to enjoy the grand view of blue Lake Daecheong, and the observation piatform at the top of the mountain offers a fantastic view of the sunset.
On top of this mountain, is Gyejok Fortress, built with stones. Gyejok Fortress is the largest of the 30 remaining fortresses built in the Baekje Period. There are two hiking trails, including a 5.6 kilometer trail, which takes about 2 hours to hike, and a 6.3kilometer trail which takes about 3 hours. Some mountaineers go up the mountain to see the evening glow from the top.

The Jangdong Forest
The Jangdong Forest, with its sports and adventure game facilities, offers a place where one can breathe the fresh air of the forest. It is frequently visited by tourists hiking or exploring nature.
Ssangcheongdang
This guest house was built in the Joseon Dynasty by Song Yu in 1432, during the 14th year of the reign of King Sejong. it is also known as Ssangcheongdang. Because of its several renovations, it is still relatively well preserved. It shows the architectural style of the early Joseon Dynasty.
Gyejoksanseong Mountain Fortress
This stone fortress in Jang-dong, Daedeok-gu, is the place in which many lives were lost during the war between Silla and Baekje. The circular fortress is almost 1,650 m in circumference. Broken pieces of porcelain and tiles have been found at this site. The height of the mountain which is believed to have been a building site, is 423 m.
Uam Historical Park
In the late Joseon Dynasty, the wooden Namganjeongsa (schoolhouse) was built It is where Uam Song Si-yeol, one of the greatest scholars during the Joseon Dynasty, taught his students during the reign of King Sukjong. This monastery has a peculiar styled garden. The water from the spring in the valley flows to the pond under the floor of this building, which accounts for the peculiar style of this garden.
Songjadaejeonpan
Songjadaejeon-pan (board) is a board of letters engraved on wooden blocks. The board has a compilation of all of works accomplished by Song Si-yeol, also known as Uam. Song Si-yeol was one of the greatest scholars of the Joseon Dynasty.
Dongchundang
Classified as National Treasure No. 209, Dongchundang was the dwelling place of Song Jun-gil.
A former Prime Minister under the rule of King Hyojong, Song Jun-gil lived here after his retirement.
This building was named after his pseudonym and it is a representative outdoor house of the mids Joseon Dynasty.
 Local Foods
One can find several restaurants on the streets behind the the Hoedeok Water Purification Plant, at the intersection leading toward Jukrimjeongsa (temple). The restaurants are well known for oritang (duck), tojongdak (chicken), and 'sogalbi' (beef ribs) .
