Daecheonghosu (Lake)
As a source of water supply to the Daejeon and Cheongju area, the Lake Daecheongho is also a tourist attraction well supplied with mountains and trees.
As the third largest lake in Korea, Lake Daecheongho has water storage area of 73 km² a length of 80 km. The dam is 495 m long and 72 m high and has a pressure of 15 billion tons. It is a source of water for drinking for living and industry in the Daejeon and Cheongju areas.
The road which runs along the lake is fantastic and is loved as a scenic drive route. The reflection of the mountain and trees on the lake creates a magnificent scene. The clean grass and Maeuntang (spicy soup) made from the freshwater fish of the lake attract many tourists. There is an observation platform for viewing Lake Daecheongho, and a public information hall where one can see a model of the dam at a glance, a three-dimensional image, and many other sights, including an aquarium.
The Public Information Hall consisting of four rooms, Meeting with Water, Valuable Water, Water and Life, and Site for Life, provides information on water to two million visitors annually, and tells them to keep the water clean as water is a source of life. People should not waste water as it is a limited resource and money cannot replenish it. Thus, the Public Information Hall is a superintendent of education which publicize the importance of wqter using various display techniques.

Public Information Center at the Daecheong Dam
The Daecheong Dam offers a beautiful view from its summit. It is one of the main tourist attractions. Inside the building, one can learn the details about the development, construction, and operation of the dam, and about its water resources as well.
Kim Jeong's Shrine
This is a shrine for Kim Jeong (1486-1521), who was a well-known scholar in the Joseon Dynasty. The foundation of this shrine was weak, so in 1980 it was moved and rebuilt at its presentlocation. There is also a monument next to this shrine which was built for EunJin Song, who was Kim Jeong's wife.
Chwibaekjeong
Chwibaekjeong, was a seat learning for students. It was built by Jewoldang Song Gyu-ryeom in 1701, the 27th year of the reign of King Sukjong. Located in Miho-dong in Daejeon, Chwibaekjeong (pavilion) has been designated as Daejeon's Cultural Property No. 9. It is situated next to Geumgang (river) and provides visitors with a great view.
 Local Foods
In the vicinity of Daecheongho (lake), many restaurants provide various kinds of seafood. Dishes cooked with maegi (catfish) and ssogari (minnows) are favorites among Koreans.
