Gaphasan, adjacent to Mt. Gyeryong National Park, is noted for its beautiful hills and forests along with the breathtaking view from its peak. The name Gapha presumably comes from Gapso, Gapgol, and Gapdong which were the old names of the surrounding areas.
It has another nickname, Sambulsan (three Buddhas), named for its three major peaks which form an image of Buddha. |
